I've been exploring dappled light in the garden this summer.  This was begun with several sessions of painting outdoors chasing elusive color changes as the afternoon light, warm and prismatic, created its nuances.  It was completed in the studio this morning.  I have tried to paint the beautiful cosmos flowers before and they always ended up looking quite stiff.  So I'm quite pleased with how they turned out.
